The Chemistry curriculum emphasizes on the theory and practical aspects of the fundamentals of chemistry and includes theories and concepts of atomic structure, chemical bonding, thermodynamics, coordination chemistry, quantum mechanics, spectroscopy and chemical analysis. Important topics include general and physical chemistry, inorganic and organic chemistry, biochemistry, electrochemistry, structure and function of polymers and chemistry of synthetic drugs.
The Environmental Science curriculum focuses on relevant concepts such as sustainable resource development, pollution control, environmental health and ecological sustainability. It covers subjects related to environmental patterns and processes, local and global environmental issues, renewable sources of energy, various ecological systems, pollution control, alternative energy systems, global climate change and disaster management.
The Botany curriculum focuses on the evolution, plant characteristics and behavior, classification, theories about the plant kingdom and the interaction of plants with the environment. It covers subjects related to phycology, plant anatomy and developmental biology, cell biology and bio-molecules, mycology and plant pathology, taxonomy of angiosperms, genetics and genomics, plant physiology and biochemistry, phytochemistry, microbial biotechnology and the applications of computer applications and bioinformatics.
