NEP 2020 Ends the difference between Science & Arts

The government’s ambitious National Education Policy (NEP 2020), which completely overhauls the current education system in India, will be implemented from this academic year 2022-23. According to NEP 2020 policy there will be no different degrees of Arts & Science from this academic year. 

The main aim of the NEP was to eliminate the ‘rigid’ separation of streams and this will be implemented from this year. The students can choose their desired courses to study in their degree from the academic year 2022-23. They have the flexibility to choose any subjects from both arts and science for their degree courses.

The students from this year will be studying 4-years degree courses instead of 3-years. They have the option to choose their desired subjects irrespective of the streams like arts, science or commerce.

The Union Ministry of Higher Education, Government of India has taken steps to implement the NEP 2020 policy phase wise starting from government colleges and it will be gradually implemented across all the colleges across the country at a faster pace.

The government colleges and some private colleges across the country have already implemented NEP 2020 and have started to take admissions for the new 4-years degree courses from this academic year 2022-23.
