The avionics is one of the most profitable domains in the business and the third most popular course in the world chosen by the students. Many new airline companies are coming up to meet the increasing needs of air travellers. This demand has created ample job opportunities for the M.Tech avionics students. Some of the important job roles available for materials science engineering students are:
Aerospace Engineer: As an Aerospace engineer one will be working with cutting edge technology and in many international companies that are related to aircraft and avionics. They are responsible to develop new and innovative designs in aviation electronics or avionics. They work in carrying out different components that make up the aircraft and systems. As an aerospace one is responsible to improve flight safety, fuel efficiency, speed and weight as well as reducing system costs and using developing technologies to meet customer needs. He/she is also required to develop new electronic chipsets that are economical and efficient.
Average salary of an aerospace engineer is around 10 lakhs to 20 lakhs per annum
Airframe Mechanical Engineer: The airframe mechanical engineers create solutions and solve problems, playing a central role in the design and implementation of moving parts in a range of industries. As an airframe mechanical engineer, one is responsible to provide efficient solutions to the development of processes and products, ranging from small component designs to extremely large plants, machinery or vehicles.
Average salary of an airframe mechanical engineer is around 8 lakhs to 15 lakhs per annum
Aircraft Maintenance Engineer: The aircraft maintenance engineer is responsible to maintain the equipment and machinery of aircrafts. They use sophisticated systems for overseeing the routine maintenance of the aircrafts. The role of the aircraft maintenance engineer is very vital for efficiency, perfection, development and progress in the aircrafts.
Average salary of an aircraft maintenance engineer is around 7 lakhs to 14 lakhs per annum
Aircraft Materials Engineer: The aircraft materials engineer is required to procure and work with various materials required for aircraft maintenance. As an aircraft material engineer, one is required to understand the properties and behaviours of different substances from raw materials to finished products when it comes to aircraft spare parts.
Average salary of an aircraft materials engineer is around 8 lakhs to 18 lakhs per annum
Aircraft Structural Engineer: The aircraft structural engineers are the ones who design, develop, and test spacecraft, missile, or test aircraft structures to withstand stresses and pressures, such as weather and human use. Aircraft Structural Engineers are responsible for making sure that the systems and overall structures are stable and secure. They research, analyze, and create structural engineering specifications using various materials through the help of computer-aided designs, mathematical models, and other softwares used to modify airplanes.
Average salary of an aircraft structural engineer is around 10 lakhs to 15 lakhs per annum
Air Traffic Controller: The Air Traffic controllers play a vital role in aviation, especially in airports where there are hundreds of planes moving around each day. They are the ones who manage ground traffic and communicate take-off and landing instructions to the pilots. They also use state-of-the-art technology to monitor aircraft movements and weather data.
Average salary of an air traffic controller is around 10 lakhs to 15 lakhs per annum
