Candidates are experienced with a basic understanding of kidney anatomy and physiology, the dialysis setup and process, patient preparation and monitoring, dialysis maintenance, machine cleaning and sterilization, safety and sanitation, professional standards and ethics, quality control and documentation. The candidates are trained to record patient information and measure vital signs.
