The course focuses on the advanced application of various techniques and activities in research, preserving, processing, production, labeling, quality check and assurance, manufacturing, and distribution of food and its byproducts. It is an interdisciplinary subject that involves engineering, food science, hotel management, home science, biology, sanitation and hygiene, food analysis adulteration and testing, and food toxicology. It includes modules related to quality management, transformation of raw resources to useful products, research and development, preserving, manufacture and production, adding flavor and color, drying, decaffeination, and self-cooking food. Candidates will have diverse knowledge about the characteristics, features, properties, and applications of food engineering and technology after successful completion of the course. Skills like analytical reasoning, research planning, decision-making, drawing, and presentation are enhanced through various seminars, lectures, practical sessions, and workshops included in this course.
