BA Honours Sociology (Bachelor of Arts Honours in Sociology)
The BA (Honors) Sociology course is a three-year undergraduate course that provides a unique blend of basics and subjects that help to enhance and develop a candidate’s communication skills and ability to deal with other people in the community. The curriculum emphasizes concepts and skills that enrich the candidate’s knowledge, creates a highly adaptive environment, and provides opportunities to grow successfully in the respective field. Candidates are guided to research and review useful information to enhance social behavior, interaction with others, and tolerance towards religion, race, gender, and creed. Sociology introduces the theoretical and methodological themes of Indian and global society and helps in the learning of society and the factors which contribute to the formation of a community or organization. Candidates are trained to observe, analyze, and understand social circumstances and translate theoretical knowledge into action and practice. Skills like communication, research, critical thinking, presentation, teamwork, and leadership are encouraged through this course.
