Chartered Legal Executive

The Chartered Legal Executives are qualified lawyers who specialise in a particular area of law when it comes to taxation and finance.

Role of a Chartered Legal Executive

As a Chartered legal Executive, one is required to provide specialist legal support and advice to clients on financial aspects. They are the individuals who will take instructions from the client and advice-them on necessary courses of legal action when it comes to finances and assets.

Responsibilities of a Chartered Legal Executive

As a Chartered Legal Executive, one is needed to:

  • Advice clients and explain complex legal matters to them about finances
  • Effectively communicate and reach agreements with your clients
  • Negotiate and correspond on your clients behalf
  • Interview and advice clients and witnesses
  • Analyse, research and summarise legal information
  • Coordinate with fellow professionals from courts, legal practices, banks and accountancy firms
  • Contact professionals such as mortgage lenders, planning officers or other lawyers on behalf of your clients
  • Conduct advocacy in district courts and high courts
  • Act as commissioners for oaths for swearing of legal documents

The fresh B.Com LLB professionals as a Chartered legal Executive will be earning around 5 lakhs to 10 lakhs per annum. The experienced professionals will be earning around 10 lakhs to 20 lakhs per annum.

Company Secretary

The company secretaries work in a strategic and influential way to ensure that a company operates within the specified law.

Role of a Company Secretary

As a company secretary one will need to ensure a company complies with financial and legal requirements as well as maintaining its high standards of corporate governance. Although strictly required to provide legal advice.

Responsibilities of a Company Secretary

As a Company Secretary one is responsible to:

  • Report to the chairman and often with board members
  • Prepare agendas and papers for board meetings, committees and annual general meetings
  • Take minutes, draft resolutions and lodge required forms and annual return with companies’ holdings
  • Ensure policies are kept up to date and approved by committee
  • Maintain statutory books, including registers of members, direction and secretaries
  • Deal with correspondence, collate information and write reports, communicate decisions for relevant company stakeholders
  • Contribute to meeting discussions to relevant company stakeholders
  • Contribute to meeting discussions and when required advice members of the legal governance accounting and tax departments of the implication of proposed policies
  • Monitor changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment and take appropriate action
  • Coordinate with external regulator and advisories such as lawyers and auditors
  • Take responsibility for the health and safety of employees and manage matters related to insurance and property
  • Develop and oversee the systems that ensure the company complies with all applicable codes, in addition to its legal and statutory requirements
  • Maintain the register of shareholders and monitor changes to share ownership of the company in a publicly listed company
  • Enter into contractual agreements with suppliers and customers
  • Manage the office space and deal with personnel and administration and insurance for employees, equipment and premises

Earning Potential

The fresh B.Com LLB students as Company Secretary will be easily earning around 5 lakhs to 7 lakhs. The experienced professionals will be earning around 8 lakhs to 16 lakhs per annum.

Licensed Conveyancer

As a licensed conveyancer one is responsible to have a keen eye for detail on property laws. He/she is responsible to have an in-depth knowledge about property laws, land laws and many other related laws.

Role of a Licensed Conveyancer

A Licensed Conveyancer is a qualified professional property lawyer. He/she is responsible to specialise in property law and will be working on behalf of the clients having or selling property houses, flats, business premises or lands.

Responsibilities of a Licensed Conveyancer

As a Licensed conveyancer one is responsible to:

  • Research information and communicate with clients and others in person on the phone, by letter or be email
  • Use a computerised case management system as conveyancing tasks are increasingly being completed online
  • Take instructions from clients
  • Seek to protect clients interests at all times, while taking precautions against potential fraud and money laundering
  • Send terms of engagement and estimates of fees and disbursements
  • Obtain or check land registry documents or title deeds
  • Draft or check sales contracts and agree terms with the conveyancer acting for the other party to the transaction
  • Collate and send or check supporting legal and financial documents
  • Deal with all financial aspects of a transaction
  • Exchange contracts and complete the transaction
  • Carry out and check pre-contract searches by checking whether the property is affected by local authority proposals, leases, easements or covenants, mortgages, land tax, susceptibility to flooding or subsidence or liability for unsound structure and repairs
  • Receive and check mortgage instructions from lenders and undertake specific tasks required
  • Prepare, transfer and mortgage deeds
  • Receive mortgage funds
  • Pay stamp taxes and deal with the registration of client and lender with the land registry
  • Be updated with latest rules and regulations about property laws and land laws

Earning Potential

The fresh B.Com LLB students as Licensed Conveyancer will be easily earning around 8 lakhs to 10 lakhs. The experienced professionals will be earning around 12 lakhs to 20 lakhs per annum.
