BGS Global Institute of Medical Sciences is one of the premier medical colleges in the country. It is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) and located on the state of Karnataka. The Teaching Hospital

BGS Global Institute of Medical Sciences trains its students in their teaching hospital that enables them to have a realistic outlook in dealing with patients in their career ahead. The hospital has a number of beds in versatile Departments: 120 beds in Medical & Allied, 140 beds in Surgical & Allied, 40 beds in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, 40 ICU beds, and 70 other miscellaneous beds. The aspirants gain an insight into the lives of doctors and how to deal with emergency situations, making a diagnosis and prescribing medicine.

Courses Offered by the College

The college offers a number of courses in 3 significant Departments, namely, Pre-Clinical Departments which includes the Departments of Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry. The Para-Clinical Departments include the Departments of Pharmacology, Pathology, Forensic Medicine, Community Medicine, and Microbiology. Finally, the Clinical Department consists of the Departments of General Medicine, Dentistry, Radio Diagnostics, TB-Chest, Dermatology, Anaesthesiology, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, ENT, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Orthopaedic, and ENT.

Eligibility Criteria and Fees

The first criteria suggest that the student must have approved the two-year P.U.C examination with Chemistry, Physics, and Biology or any other equivalent course as recognized by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. The student may have passed B.Sc from the Bangalore University or any other documented University with at least 3 of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Botany. The student must be 17 years of age by the 31st December of the year of seeking admission. All students are selected based on a competitive examination called the Common Entrance Test, which is conducted every year by Karnataka Government otherwise the COMED-K offered by Consortium of the Pvt Medical Colleges of Karnataka for the students as well as the rest of the country. The fees for students selected based on C.E.T is ₹46,000/ and that for students selected based on COMED-K is ₹3, 57,500. The fees for NRI students are different from these fees, and so is that for other miscellaneous categories. The fee structure is regulated by the government and may change according to the changes ordered by the government.
