Admission Process of BGS Medical College

Criteria for Admission

The following criteria have to be met for admission at BGS Medical College:

1. The first criteria enlisted states that the student must have passed two year PUC examination with Chemistry, Physics, and Biology otherwise any other such equivalent examinations as recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. The student may also have approved the B.Sc exam of Bangalore University, otherwise any other university with at least 3 of these subjects: Zoology, Botany, Physics or Chemistry.
2. The aspirant must have completed 17 years by 31st December of admission year.
3. For foreign students, an eligibility record from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore is mandatory along with a student visa and residential certificate.

Entrance Examination

All students who are eligible for admission are hence subjected to an entrance examination which is known as a Common Entrance Test. On the basis of this test, the final selection is made. The C.E.T is arranged through the Karnataka Government once every year. The Consortium of the Pvt Medical Colleges conducts the examination once every year for both students belonging to the state of Karnataka and all over the country. The entire number of spaces available is 150, out of which, 40% of the seats are filled based on the C.E.T examination results intended for only domicile of Karnataka, the rest of the seats are filled Examination results of entire students in general. All the selections are based on the merit of the students. 15% of seats are reserved for N.R.I students and 5% for Institution
