Prerana Scholarship Scheme - AICTE SCHOLARSHIPS

Introduction

Prerana Scholarship Scheme aims to provide financial support for all the AICTE approved institutes to conduct training for the GATE/GPAT/CAT/CMAT/GRE entrance exams for SC/ST students. The main aim of the scholarship scheme is to promote the post graduate studies and higher education among the students of SC and ST and other backward classes. The AICTE provides 100% financial assistance to all its approved institutes that conduct coaching classes for the entrance exams such as GATE/GPAT/CAT/CMAT/GRE and train the students to crack these entrance exams.

 Availability

Every year nearly 30 Lakh scholarships are targeted across the country for the fresh candidates and also renewal candidates every year.

Eligibility

• The students taking up a technical degree must enrol and undergo a technical course notified by the council in AICTE approved technical institutions.
• The first-year students of B.E/B.Tech / or Integrated M. Tech, first- and second-year students who have participated in a national competition that is accepted in the international scientific event board are eligible to apply for ‘Prerana Scholarship Scheme’
• The team of students will be eligible only once during the course of their study for financial support under the scheme.
• Nature and Extent of financial support eligible under the scheme (Maximum Rs. 1 Lakh/student).

1. Air Fare - Actual fare not exceeding AC II Class train fare will be admissible for travel from the Technical Institutions approved by the Council to the nearest airport and back.

Duration

The duration of the ‘Prerana Scholarship Scheme’ shall be given for a period of 2 years i.e., pre-final and final year of graduation.

Benefits

• 100% funding is provided by the All-India Council of Technical Education
• 100 % of non-recurring to be released at the time of award of the scheme.
• 50% recurring for the first year.
• 50% of recurring for the second year

Mode of Application

The candidate fulfilling the eligibility conditions is required to apply online on National Scholarship Portal (NSP) after initiation of application process and notice to be published on AICTE website.

Documents Required

• Mark Sheet of Class X/XII/equivalent as applicable.
• Annual family Income Certificate for the preceding financial year in the prescribed format issued by not below the rank of Tahsildar.
• Admission Letter issued by Directorate of Technical Education for the admission in Diploma/Degree course.
• Certificate issued by the Director/Principal/Head of the Institute.
• Tuition fee receipt.
• AADHAR seeded Bank Pass Book in the name of the student indicating Account number, IFSC code and photograph
• Doctor Certificate defining the physical disability
• AADHAR Card
• Declaration by parents duly signed stating that the information provided about their child is correct and that they will refund the scholarship amount, if found false at any stage.
