Zoom introduces new features for educators and students.

Zoom has unveiled a slew of new tools for educators and students specially for the chromebooks. The breakout rooms have been improved, "Anywhere Polls" has been added and virtual background and blur support for Chromebooks has been added. Because Chromebooks are popular among students and teachers, the company added virtual backgrounds and blur features to Zoom for Chrome in response to requests from education customers.

"Our students and teachers benefit greatly from Chromebooks with virtual backgrounds and blur." "Many students were hesitant to turn on their cameras before this feature enhancement," Rod Smith, Clayton County Public Schools' Chief Technology Officer, said in a press release. One of the customers who asked for the feature was Clayton County Public Schools. 

Using Zoom's Breakout Rooms functionality, conference hosts may divide visitors into distinct breakout rooms for group activity. It's a popular option among students. The new Program Audio feature, which now includes the option to share movies with audio, will allow meeting presenters to offer content with audio to breakout rooms.  

The Educators will also be able to populate breakout rooms based on the course roster thanks to the new LTI Pro integration update to Breakout Rooms. Learning management systems (LMSs) are utilized by educators and the LTI pro app connects with them. 

'Anywhere Polls,' another new feature, allowing polls to be added to a central repository that can be accessible from any meeting on an account rather than being connected with a specific meeting and this function will be accessible later this year.

The Zoom Chat now has capabilities that allow users to exchange audio and video chats. These asynchronous video messages are designed to allow users to take their time, think about their replies and record them. Users can record a video message (up to three minutes long) and send it immediately to the out-of-meeting chat channel by clicking "video" at the bottom of the chat window. 

The users can also rename participants in the waiting room before they join the call, which is a new feature. This may be used for collecting attendance, organizing an anonymous student club or validating gender identification, according to Zoom.
