In the major move to encourage sustainable environmental education in the children, the Karnataka government will include soil conservation lessons in the textbooks for all the students.
Mr B C Nagesh Primary and Secondary Education Minister of Karnataka, made this announcement while sharing the stage with Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev of Isha Foundation in Bengaluru as part of the ‘Save Soil’ campaign.
The minister further stated that with the excessive use of chemicals and pesticides the soil fertility has degraded and it is high time to remind the students about the importance of soil conservation and environmental safety, the inclusion of soil conservation lessons will widen the horizon of the learning about sustainable environment.
