Poor Educational Infrastructure becomes Hurdle for Booming Gaming Industry in India

There is demand galore for gaming in India, what the country lacks is proper educational and training infrastructure that can nurture individuals to produce virtual games. For starting a gaming industry we need cutting edge game development infrastructure and human resources. But due to the lack  of proper educational and training infrastructure the gaming industry has taken a hit in India.

According to the experts, what the industry faces today is the lack of talent available to conceptualise and have the imagination to design and develop a game due to a poor gaming development infrastructure.

Many experts believe that there are many other issues that plague the industry like lack of awareness and orthodox mindset. As gaming is considered more like a timepass by many and is not often not taken seriously as a possible career path by many students.

The gaming experts state that currently, there are no government institutes that offer courses related to the field and as of today there are very less institutes across the country that offer full-fledged gaming courses and gaming development degrees

In the recent Budget the finance minister of Union government Ms Nirmala Sitharaman has announced plans to set up an animation, visual effects, gaming and comics (AVGC) promotion task force that will look into the promotion and development of gaming industry-related ethos in the country. The Karnataka government had launched an AVGC centre of excellence in Bengaluru in January this year.

These initiatives will fuel the game development industry in coming days according to many gaming experts and proper implementation opens huge avenues for career development in the gaming industry across the country.
