New security protocol by NTA for a 'completely' secured computer-based tests

Last Updated: 12-07-2022

In the major development by the NTA to increase security for all its computer-based tests, the NTA has decided to install new “security patches” two hours ahead of the commencement of the UGC-NET on Saturday.

The decision was made to avoid the security glitches faced by NTA and students during the UGC NET Exam 2022 recently. This additional layer of safety measures was more about the downloading and installing the new software randomly. While in the majority of the 304 centres the installation was successful, seven centres faced technical issues and the exams had to be cancelled.

Mr Vineet Joshi director-general NTA stated that the new feature will now be a part of the exam safety and security protocol for all the computer-based exams to be conducted by the NTA, including JEE (Mains) and CUET-UG. He further added that the agency has now decided to start the addition of the security patches four to five hours ahead of the exam.

Mr. Joshi further stated that in order to make the system full-proof, the agency has decided to update the software with new ‘security patches’ ahead of the exams.

The NTA further claims that after the installation of the new security feature there were no technical glitches during the second shift tests on Saturday.
