GATE Ranks vs. Marks vs. Score
Candidates should be aware that GATE scores, positions, and marks differ from one another. The candidates' GATE marks are calculated out of 100. In contrast, the GATE scores are scaled out of 1000 and are calculated using a normalization technique. Depending on their results, candidates are assigned a GATE rank.
GATE Normalisation
GATE exam was conducted in multiple sittings, including the number of students in attendance, the level of difficulty, and the relative importance of each topic. Therefore, when these factors change the overall difficulty level of the paper, normalizing scores is necessary.
GATE Counselling 2024
For GATE 2024, two types of counselling are offered: COAP counselling and CCMT counselling. Students should be informed that in order to be admitted to different IITs for M.Tech degrees, COAP Counselling is available. Likewise, GFTIs, IIITs, and NITs offer CCMT Counselling for admission to M.Tech programs.
