What is the NEET UG Exam?
National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test or NEET is a common entrance exam conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). It is the sole governing body for all the admissions to seats available in Medical, Dental, AYUSH colleges in India. The NEET UG exam is conducted for admission in various departments like MBBS, BDS, AYUSH (Ayurveda, Unani, Sidda, Homeopathy) courses at undergraduate level for getting admissions in good reputed colleges or institutes, which are approved and recognised by MCI in India.
The NEET-UG exam is mandatory to get admission to MBBS courses in medical colleges in India and abroad. The MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) is a 5.5-years undergraduate degree that is required to become a doctor/physician and practice allopathic medicine across the globe.

The students should have passed their PUC or 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry & Biology with 50% (General) aggregate and 45% (OBC/SC/ST) from recognised board are eligible to apply for NEET-UG exam

The students should have completed minimum of 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of which admission is sought
Exam Format and Syllabus
The NEET exam is conducted through Paper based test (Offline) mode at specified exam centres. The NEET exam is Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) based and consists of 200 questions out of which the candidates are required to attempt only 180 questions. The exam paper is divided into 3 different sections. The duration of the NEET exam is 3-Hours or 180 minutes and there will be Negative Marking for the wrong answers.

What’s new in the NEET Exam?

In the NEET -UG exam, the sections are now divided into two parts: Section A and Section B

The candidates are required to attempt only 180 questions of the total of 200 questions

The age-limit criteria have been removed from the tie-breaking procedure to allot AIQ seats
