MD Pathology (Doctor of Medicine in Pathology)
The MBBS students joining the MD Pathology course will be called as Pathologists after the completion of their MD. Pathology is a branch of medical science that deals with the study of pathogens and diseases caused by them. They study particularly about the structural and functional changes caused by the pathogens in humans. The MD Pathologists mainly involve themselves in laboratory examination of molecules, cells, tissues and organs and its interpretation.
Pathologists can work in a variety of areas like clinical and laboratory fields. They mainly deal with the analysis of the pathogens that cause ailments in people. They are responsible to identify the disease-causing pathogen and prescribe the right medicine or further refer the patients to specialists if required.
