But the government has provided many scholarships for many deserving students and is trying to help them to pursue their courses for MBBS Colleges in Bangalore.

The scholarship is financial support awarded to a student, based on academic achievement or other criteria that may include financial need, for the purpose of schooling. The scholarships are awarded to the deserving candidates and are not limited only to the academics. The scholarships are also for the individuals for their work in departmental and community involvement, employment experience, areas of study, and financial need etc.
Some of the scholarships available for MBBS students are:
Merit Cum Means Scholarship for professional courses CS (Minorities)
The merit cum means scholarship scheme is awarded for all the students from minority groups to take up technical and professional educations at both undergraduate and postgraduate medical courses levels. The scholarship is awarded to encourage the students from minority groups to take up technical and professional education in all the government institutes and private institutes that are recognised by central government, state government and union territory administration across the MBBS Colleges in India.
Availability
Each year about 60,000 scholarships are awarded for the eligible students that consists of both fresh scholarships and renewing of the old scholarships.
Eligibility
The Scholarship is awarded to the students who have secured not less than 50% marks in the previous final examination and annual income of their parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed Rs. 1 Lakh.
Category - Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jain and Zoroastrians (Parsis)
Benefits
The students who get admission to a college to pursue technical/professional courses, on the basis of a competitive examination will be eligible for the scholarship.
About 30% scholarship is reserved for girls’ students of each minority community in a State/UT which is transferable to male students of that community in case of non-availability of female students in that community in the concerned State/UT. 30% is the floor and not the ceiling for eligible girl students.
The scholarship, once awarded, may be renewed during the next academic year of the course on the production of a certificate that the student has secured 50% marks in the previous year’s examination (each semester / trimester of previous year provided the student pursues the same course in the same Institute).
National Fellowship and Scholarship for Higher Education of ST/SC Students
The ‘National Fellowship and Scholarship for Higher Education of SC/ST students’ scholarship scheme is intended to encourage meritorious SC/ST students to pursue courses at graduate/postgraduate level in identified Institutions of excellence of Government and Private that are recognised by Central Government, State Government and Union Territory Administration. The scholarship is awarded to promote the education of ST students in various professional fields such as Management, Medicine, Engineering, Information Technology, Law etc.
Availability
Every year a total number of 1000 fresh scholarships are awarded to the meritorious ST students
Eligibility
The scholarship will be available only for the SC/ST candidates who fulfil the following conditions:
The SC/ST students who have secured admission in the notified Institutions according to the norms prescribed by the respective Institutions will be eligible for the scholarship under the scheme.
The total family income of the candidate from all sources should not exceed Rs.6.0 LPA.
The scholarship shall be payable once the student has secured admission and started attending the classes
The SC/ST students should have secured 50% aggregate in the Class X
Benefits
The scholarship will be awarded to the students studying in Class XI and XII including technical and vocational courses of this level including Polytechnics, ITIs, and other courses.
The scholarship, once awarded, may be renewed during the next academic year of the course on the production of a certificate that the student has secured 50% marks in the previous year’s examination (provided the student pursues the same course and same Institute/School).
Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships for College and University Students
The ‘Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship’ for college and university is awarded to all the meritorious students with low-income families to meet their day-to-day expenses while pursuing their higher studies.
Availability
Every year 82000 fresh scholarships are awarded for all the meritorious students who have scored 80% in their SSLC or 10th class. About 41000 scholarships are provided for boys and about 41000 are scholarships are provided for girls for pursuing graduate / postgraduate studies in colleges and universities and for professional courses, such as Medical, Engineering etc.
Eligibility
The students who have scored 80% marks in the relevant stream from the respective Board of Examination in Class XII of 10+2 pattern or equivalent and pursuing regular courses (not correspondence or distance mode)
The students should pursue their higher studies in the colleges/Institutions that are recognized by All India Council of Technical Education, UGC, Medical Council of India, Dental Council of India and respective regulatory authorities.
The students should not be availing the benefit of any other scholarship scheme including State run scholarship schemes/Fee waiver and reimbursement scheme are eligible under the scheme.
Students pursuing Diploma courses are not eligible under the scheme.
Benefits
The amount of scholarship is Rs.10,000/year at Graduation level for first 3 years of College and University courses and Rs.20,000/year at the postgraduate level.
Students pursuing professional courses, in cases where the duration of course is 5 years/Integrated course would get Rs.20,000/year in the fourth and fifth year.
Students pursuing technical courses such as B.Tech and B.E will get a scholarship up to Graduation level.
50% of the scholarship is reserved for girls. The number of scholarships allotted to a State Education Board is distributed amongst pass outs of the Science, Commerce and Humanities streams in the ratio of 3:2:1.
Documents Required for Scholarships
The eligible students who are looking for scholarships are required to produce the following documents in order to avail scholarships for their MBBS education.
The marksheet of marks 50% secured in the previous academic year’s final exam
Annual family Income Certificate for the preceding financial year in the prescribed format issued by not below the rank of Tahsildar
Certificate issued by the Director/Principal/Head of the Institute.
Tuition fee receipt.
AADHAR seeded Bank Pass Book in the name of the student indicating Account number, IFSC code and photograph
AADHAR Card
Declaration by parents duly signed stating that the information provided about their child is correct and that they will refund the scholarship amount, if found false at any stage
